Marching Unit
About
The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU) is the marching band at Kutztown University. Membership in KUMU is open to any interested student enrolled at KU. KUMU is an energetic part of the campus community providing entertainment at all KU Golden Bears Football home games, select away games, regional marching band festivals/competitions, sporting events, and additional campus spirit activities. The Marching Unit is currently composed of Winds, Brass, Percussion (drumline & front ensemble), Color Guard (flags & weapons) twirlers, and student staff (non-marching students who enjoy working with the marching band). These members share their talents and experiences with each other and it requires commitment, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to share your school spirit and enthusiasm with all aspects of the KU community. As a member of KUMU, you develop life-long friendships, meaningful memories, pride in yourself, provide support for KU sports teams, and experience YOUR collegiate life in a unique atmosphere. KUMU rehearses in the fall semester on Mondays & Wednesdays (3:30-5), Fridays from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM (until October 1), and Saturday mornings on performance days. We invite you to join us in creating dynamic musical and exciting visual experiences in the marching arts at KU!
